Tim Grant - Director and Founder
Tim Grant is a specialist in life cycle assessment (LCA) with over twenty years of experience in developing and applying LCA with a wide range of companies and organisations. Tim was a founding member and is a current director of the Australian Life Cycle Assessment Society (ALCAS).
He is an author of the book Life Cycle Assessment - Principles, Practice and Prospects (CSIRO, 2009) as well as a co-author of the book Design + Environment - a global guide to designing greener goods (Routledge).
Tim works across many different sectors in LCA including packaging, agriculture, energy, fuels, water products, buildings and waste management. In addition, he has worked on the development of LCA databases for Australia.
Tim discovered his passion for LCA during his Master degree at RMIT while creating a pizza box eco-design.
Paul-Antoine Bontinck - Senior LCA Consultant
Paul-Antoine is an environmental engineer, specialised in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). He has applied LCA in research, consulting and industry settings over the past 12 years, which, coupled with his Master of Environmental Engineering, gives him a deep understanding of the many possible applications for LCA models. As a Senior Consultant at Lifecycles, Paul-Antoine has specialised in the development and handling of large models, linking Material Flow Analysis and LCA. Most recently, Paul-Antoine led the update of the National Food Waste Baseline and developed a stock and flow model of Australia’s consumption of e-product, estimating current and projected volumes of e-waste arising in Australia. Apart from these recent flagship projects, he has worked across sectors, conducting LCA in agriculture, mining, consumer products, packaging and waste management. His aim is to provide tangible information which can help support effective decision-making to improve sustainability performances. Paul-Antoine learnt about the looming dangers of climate change whilst working on a student project in his final years of high school. This realisation drove him to search for a professional path which would have a positive impact on the world, a path he found after being taught about LCA during his Master of Environmental Engineering.
Sandra Eady - Agriculture Systems Consultant
Sandra is an agricultural scientist with extensive experience working within the industry. In her 30-year career with CSIRO, Sandra applied systems thinking to her scientific endeavours – ranging from implementing national livestock breeding programs for livestock (her PhD studies) to LCA for key industries exporting into international markets. Her work has established on-farm greenhouse gas emissions profiles and assessed land-based climate change mitigation options at the national scale.
In partnering with Lifecycles, Sandra is contributing to the establishment of environmental benchmarks to ensure market access for products, such as oilseeds for the EU bio-fuel market. She is a significant contributor to the life cycle inventory for Australian agriculture through AusLCI.
In a volunteer capacity, Sandra leads several initiatives with Z-NET Uralla, a sustainability group in the Uralla Shire, with the goal of transitioning the community to 100% renewable energy and introducing sustainable approaches to water, waste, transport and food. Sandra loves the challenge of unpacking how systems work – and creatively redesigning them to help move to a more sustainable way of living.
Chrissi Bok - Accounts and Business Services Manager
Chrissi manages our accounting, HR, sales & customer service and oversees events & trainings. Chrissi takes pride and joy in making sure everything is ticking smoothly at the office’s back end; she loves the variety of her role.
She also manages the administrative and accounting role for ALCAS - the Australian Life Cycle Assessment Society.
After finishing her business management degree in Germany she worked in hospitality and accounting before making Australia her new home where she worked in tax accounting and customer service.
Chrissi deeply cares about the environment, often you can find her picking up rubbish in parks or along the beach.
Gabriella Hooper - Head of Digital
Gabriella joined the Lifecycles team in 2022 to head up the Marketing, Brand and Product Development. With more than 7 years of experience in communications and marketing agencies in London and Australia, working within consumer, corporate and start-up sectors, Gabriella brings a holistic approach to building brand awareness and connecting with key audiences. Gab will also be overseeing the product development of Lifecycles' new tools and training programs, with strong project management skills - having managed large scale brand campaigns for consumer and corporate clients including McDonalds, Skyscanner, Johnson & Johnson, Equifax, Bunnings and Diageo. Gab’s decision to join Lifecycles was spurred on by her passion for the environment and desire to contribute in a more meaningful way every day.
Anna Boyden - Research Scientist (LCA)
Anna completed her Master of Engineering Science (Sustainable Systems) at the UNSW with high distinctions.
Her degree focused on environmental management, life cycle assessment, industrial ecology and sustainable engineering, sustainability theory and environmental policy while her thesis was an input-output analysis of the circular economy in Australia.
Her overseas exchange in the Netherlands focused on analytical tools for industrial ecology and data analysis.
During her studies, she was doing an internship as a Graduate Wind Engineer where she was able to analyse wind data from meteorological masts, create maps, layouts and reports.
She also placed Runner Up in the 2018 Circular Economy ResourCE Hack.
Anna enjoys advocating for circular economy principles, she likes to buy second-hand and to reuse and repair as much as possible.
Lucille Wagner - Research Scientist
Lucille completed a technical degree in Organic and Analytical Chemistry followed by a MSc in Medicinal Chemistry (ENSCM, France). After three years’ experience in Medical Research, both in academia (USA, Norway) and industry (France), she joined Lifecycles in 2020. Lucille has since been working on an array of LCA consulting projects spanning many fields: from biochar and small electronic medical devices to hydrogen production and biomanufacturing. She has also reviewed many LCAs and climate neutral certifications under different certification schemes. She recently completed a course in social LCA and hopes to be able to apply this newly acquired knowledge soon and provide clients with an understanding of their environmental as well as social footprint.
Lucille has always loved cooking and has developed a passion for food sustainability. She is thrilled to contribute to a more sustainable society through both her personal life and her work.
Jeremy Grant - Researcher
Jeremy started at Lifecycles in 2015 as a part time intern whilst completing his VCE studies and he is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Environmental Science at the Royal Melbourne Institute for Technology. Since March 2021 Jeremy works part-time as a LCA researcher.
