Queensland greenhouse gas and sustainability footprints of current and future biofuels

In early 2016 Lifecycles was commissioned by the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection to undertake an LCA to determine the global warming benefits of current and future biofuels supplying the Queensland market relative to conventional fossil fuels and to identify other relevant environmental impacts and benefits associated with biofuel production. The study was undertaken following the ISO 14040 and 14044 guidelines and in line with the draft requirements for biofuels and bioenergy assessments established by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency.

The Greenhouse gas and sustainability footprints of current and future biofuels for Queensland report can be viewed here.

Lifecycles is proud to once again have been contracted to provide a life cycle assessment of greenhouse gas emissions profiles for emerging biofuels in Queensland in 2017.
