Greenhouse gas and sustainability footprints of emerging biofuels for Queensland

In early 2016 Lifecycles was for the first time commissioned by the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection to undertake an LCA to determine the global warming benefits of current and future biofuels supplying the Queensland market relative to conventional fossil fuels and to identify other relevant environmental impacts and benefits associated with biofuel production.The study was undertaken following the ISO 14040 and 14044 guidelines and in line with the draft requirements for biofuels and bioenergy assessments established by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency.

Then in 2017 Lifecycles was contracted again to provide a life cycle assessment of greenhouse gas emissions profiles for emerging biofuels for Queensland.
